Category Archives: We Suck at Selfies Tour
Olivia Cunning and I, on our first trip together to the RARE14 book signing in Scotland, decided we needed to try our hand at selfie photography. That was when we learned we sucked at it! Hard!!! So as anything, I like to celebrate in my suckiness. See for yourself.
Surprise! The ninth volume in the Sole Regret series is now available in ebook format! What a great way to start your Tuesday!!!!
He’s ready for more… Sole Regret’s sex-obsessed bassist Owen Mitchell has always rocked with the ladies and rolled with the punches. He knows Caitlyn’s just looking for a fling with someone more fun and adventurous than her ex-husband, but Owen is drawn to the geeky temptress like a rocker’s drawn to a heavy riff. He’ll keep thrilling her in the bedroom to keep her coming and coming back for more. He has faith that someday she’ll admit they’re meant to be together.
She’s not sure where this is going… Successful in life but not in love, Caitlyn isn’t ready for a serious relationship so soon after her painful divorce. But she’s more than ready for a good time. So she writes out a long list of sexual fantasies and knows just the rock star to fulfill them all. Owen, as always, is eager to please, and the more time they spend together, the more she starts to think he’s good for much more than ticking fantasies off her list. Now if only that pregnant groupie of his would get lost.
Oh yes. I still continue to suck at selfies. Pam and I had a great time at the Barbra Streisand concert at The Toyota Center in Houston. Even though it was Babs’ first time in Texas it was not our first time to see her. We flew out to see her at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2000. Both shows were fantastic and totally different. I love how relaxed and funny she was at this concert. I also liked how she did songs from past albums that are not her standard songs to sing at her concerts. It was a treat to hear her sing these gems live. She even talked about the stories behind the cover artwork on her albums. Fabulous night!!!!
To finish out this trip we end up in St. Louis so I can fly back to Houston. Before we go I have to take a tour in the St. Louis Arch of course. This is just part of my “Cyndi’s On Top of the World Looking Down on Creation Tour.”
The arch is really breathtaking. I have another blog post with the panoramic view from the top but as you can see – while trying to take our selfie from the top – WE TOTALLY SUCK! Actually the phone camera does because no matter what I do I cannot get it to focus on us with the light of the city behind us. Well, I take that back. When I got it to focus on us there was nothing to see behind us. Phone cameras can only do so much (and I’m sticking to that rather than thinking it is an operator issue). 06/27/2016
So on the way from Iowa to Illinois we spot a Taco John’s. I hear all about her love of Taco John’s and her lack of one in her hometown, so since we are hungry we have to stop so I can try one out. Pretty darn good! 06/25/2016
Once we finished the Mark Twain Cave tour (60 minute tour) we walked over to the Cameron Cave. This difference in these two tours is very simple. Whereas the Mark Twain Cave had electricity run through it lighting the tour path, there is no electricity in the Cameron Cave. The only light you get is a little $0.99 (click, click) flashlight. So, about a dozen of us with those little flashlights followed a tour guide into the 52 degrees cave with no light for a 1 hour and 20 minute tour. Oh, and did I mention it rained pretty heavily on us while walking over to the cave. So, we went into the tour as wet rats and came out as popsicles. It was a really fun and interesting tour. I highly recommend it. 06/26/2016
Well, we left Iowa after the Scripted Social Author Event in Des Moines and headed to Hannibal, Missouri, home of the Mark Twain Cave. This cave is not only cool for helping to inspire the writings of Mark Twain but it also holds the signature of Jesse James written on the walls from one of his hideouts. If we didn’t suck at selfies we probably would have at least gotten our faces all the way in the photo. 06/26/2016
Time for another Olivia Cunning book singing . . . “Where in the world are Olivia and Bitch Olivia (that is her pet name for me)?” We are in Des Moines for the Scripted Social Author Event. We loves walking around downtown Des Moines for their annual art festival. 06/24/2016
