08/09/16 – 365 Thank Yous – #6 – Thank You Joshua at Krogers

Thank you to Joshua at the Kroger Grocery Store on League City Parkway.  While sacking my groceries he took the time to carefully sort my produce so it wasn’t (a) in the same bag as bleach or raw meat and for (b) waiting to put the produce in the cart until it was on top so it did not get crushed.  Most sackers these days seem to be either poorly trained or just don’t care.  Joshua was very considerate and for that I say thank you.

The meaning behind my 365 Thank Yous:

I saw an interview of John Kralik on a talk show where he spoke about turning around his life from a very low point to a very high point by sending out simple thank you notes. He sent one thank you note each day (365 days was his original goal) to people for their simple acts of kindness in his every day life. This is my homage to him and my attempt at being thankful for the simple and caring things in my life. You can use the link below to get your own copy. I know you will enjoy it as much as I have.

08/08/16 – 365 Thank Yous – #5 -Thank you Dr. Sanchez & Dr. Sarabia

My thank you today goes out to Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Sarabia, Jr. This brother and sister along with their father Dr. Sarabia, Sr. have been our family dentist for four generations starting with my grandparents all the way down to my kids. To have 2nd generation dentists taking care of 4th generation patients means they have taken great care of us. I love that their family continues to take special care of my family. Thank you guys.

08/07/16 – 365 Thank Yous – #4 – Thank You Greg

Today I would like to thank my husband Greg. He got a new bike and gave me his other one so now we can go riding together. We went for our first ride tonight. So here are my thanks to Greg. Thank you for protecting my prostate (I need to switch out his “boy” seat for a “girl” seat but in the meantime my prostate is good to go!  Thank you for making my tailbones hurt (I’m not sure having a “girl” seat will make this any better). Thank you for making my legs hurt (I can’t remember the last time I rode a bike). More importantly, and sincerely, thank you for being a great partner in life that always takes my for fun journeys (and gets me off my ass!)

08/06/16 – 365 Thank Yous – #3 – Thank You Jaime Peoples

Today I would like to say thank you to my friend Jaime Peoples.  I needed a friend to go with me to enjoy the Dixie Chicks concert tonight.  Pretty much without any details as to  when, where or why she said she was on board.  She just wanted to go out and have a good time with me.  It is nice knowing you have friends that want to spend time with you just because they want to spend time with you and it doesn’t matter what it is you are doing.  She hadn’t ever really listened to the Chicks before so by diving in she got to experience something new.  We even got in a little Halloween costume shopping and some fan-freaking-tastic Mexican food!  Thanks Jaime for being a great friend!

08/04/2016 – 365 Thank Yous – #1 – Thank you John Kralik

For my first thank you I would like to thank John Kralik.  I saw an interview of John Kralik on a talk show where he spoke about turning around his life from a very low point to a very high point by sending out simple thank you notes. He sent one thank you note each day (365 days was his original goal) to people for their simple acts of kindness in his every day life.

When I first listened to his book on audio (yes I have listened to it multiple times) I was so inspired.  I sent out a few thank you notes or simple ‘thinking about you’ notes and the response was tremendous.  I actually got thank you notes for my thank you notes!!  I loved it.  Unfortunately, when I needed the motivation the most, time got away from me and I realized I had stopped sending out my thank yous.  At the same time I realized my positive thoughts were pretty low as well.  So, I decided to pick myself back up and start sending my thanks out again.

This is my homage to John and my attempt at being thankful for the simple and caring things in my life.  Each day I will post my thank you for the day.  I hope you will join in my journey.  Can you imagine if everyone took the time each day to say, “Thank You”.  It is the very basic of paying it forward!!

08/05/16 – 365 Thank Yous – #2 – Random Guy at Store

I would like to take a moment to thank the random guy at the store the other day.  I was pushing my cart towards the end of the aisle as this man was turning into my aisle and we almost crashed.  Of course we both paused quickly and said, “Oh, excuse me” but then he stopped abruptly and said, “Mam, you are absolutely beautiful!!”  It was such a wonderful thing to hear and was said in such a nice, sincere way (not in that random pervy way).  You know, every once in a while everyone needs to hear how pretty they are, how special they are, or how much they mean to you.  When I see a random person and tell them something like, “You have the most beautiful eyes,” there is usually one of my friends with me and they always ask, “Why did you just say that to them?”  My answer is always, “Don’t you like a random compliment?  Well they do too!”  You never know when you are going to make someone’s day brighter, so when you have that random compliment in your head, voice it!!!!!
